U koncernu VW group záleží dle které specifikace byl vyroben motor.
Pokud podle QG1 nebo QG2 (kruhové honování) potom lze použít olej 505 i 506
pokud dle QG0 (křížové honování) potom lze použít pouze olej 505.
Pozor na skokovou změnu kvality oleje - může poškodit motor.
Pozor drahý olej bývá někdy méně kvalitní než olej levnější!
Olej podle normy VW 505.01 - má interval výměny 15.000 km nebo jeden rok
Olej podle normy VW 506.01 - má interval výměny 30.-50.000 km nebo 2 roky - je určen pro vozidla s WIV (prodloužený interval údržby)

Příklad: máte-li v motoru 1,9 TDi AFN / 81kW olej splňující specifikaci VW 505.00, smíte při potřebě doplnit použít k dolití bez obav třeba olej VW 507.00 nebo VW 505.01 (olej VW 506.xx ovšem NE, protože motor AFN je QG0 a olej VW 506.xx jej poškodí!!!).
-pozn.2: Motory kódované na QG1 a QG2 jsou naprosto identické motory (liší se pouze kódem ŘJ přístrojů a tudíž řídicím programem LongLife). Motory QG0 jsou konstrukčně jiné (mají jinou technologii honování válců) a nelze je kódovat na LongLife. Skutečnost, že se konstrukčně jedná o jiné motory, je dána jinými motor-kódy (AHF x ASV, AGR x ALH a podobně).
- pozn.3: Motory kódované na QG1 lze překódovat na QG2 a naopak. Motory QG0 překódovat NELZE!!!
- pozn.4: Motory vyrobené dle QG0 nemají WIV (mají jiné přístrojové desky) a jejich strojní obrábění je jiné než u motorů QG1/QG2 - v těchto motorech se NESMÍ použít olej LongLife dle specifikace VW 503.xx / 506.xx (hrozí poškození stěn válců), a to ani v případě, že tento olej použijete jen na běžných 15.000 km. Oleje LongLife (SAE 0W/30 a specifikace VW 503.xx / VW 506.xx) se v motorech QG0 nesmějí použít V ŽÁDNÉM PŘÍPADĚ !!! Dbejte, aby k tomu nikdy nedošlo ani úmyslně, ani nevědomně, pár motorů už bylo zničeno nevhodně použitým olejem.
-pozn.5: Olej specifikace VW 507.00 je universální olej pro všechny naftové motory VW. Smí se jej použít (a dolévat) do kteréhokoli motoru TDi/SDi/TD/D, včetně motorů PD a PPD, pro pevný i LongLife interval, pro motory s DPF (prostě universálně kamkoli). Tuto skutečnost je dobré vědět - v případě nutnosti doplnit olej v motoru nemusíte pracně zjišťovat, jaký typ oleje a jaký výměnný interval máte - prostě dolijte VW 507.00 a nikdy nemůžete nic zkazit.
Jaký máte výměnný interval QG zjistíte ze servisní knížky , kde je na nalepovací štítek s PR-čísly . Pokud k vozu nemáte servisní knížku, měla by být čísla i v kufru auta na podlaze. Vlevo dole je nápis QG0, QG1 nebo QG2.
Jediné dva typy TDi motorů VW, kde se olej VW 507.00 použít nesmí, jsou motory R5 a V10 TDi
- zde je nutno striktně dodržet normu VW 506.01 ACEA : A5/B5, jiné oleje nejsou dovolené!!
